2020
I can’t say that 2020 was a bad year, but it had it’s share of unpleasant challenges. I was blessed to be an “Essential Worker,” so I wasn’t arbitrarily put out of work by governmental fiat. But, I did take a 25% hit in revenue. It didn’t shut me down, but it wasn’t fun either.
The China Virus (COVID-19)
This year I have travelled to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachussetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Arizona. I have not been infected with the China virus. I have been fortunate. One of my friends had it. It was not fun for him.
Still, I do not think the China virus is the terror that it is portrayed as. It frightens me that the people with the guns (the government) don’t know what they’re doing, but still legislating restrictions. In particular, state governors have been allowed to far exceed their legal authorities. I’m thinking of you, General Janet Mills, and others in your ilk.
I shudder when I think of the number of small business that have been destroyed by gubernatoria fiat. There, but for the grace of God, go I.
I won’t be sad to see 2020 go, but I fear 2021 could be worse.
